PLACE: The Physicality of the Screen

This short film, PLACE (3:58), is a project I worked on for a university assignment in early 2019. It took several months to put together and was created by using Prelinger Archives clips and editing them together in Adobe Premiere.

PLACE – Artist’s Statement

This short film was made with the intent of experimenting with the concept of screen as physical space. Everything inside the film is it’s own seperate entity – the radio, the door, the television – all of these take place in their own personal ‘rooms’ within the film, allowing the viewer to make the choice of what to focus on, just as they would within an actual, physical room.

Each room focuses on the personality of the character inside – or in some cases characters. I wanted to make it as compositionally interesting as possible while still adding a naturalistic aspect.
